FUNCTIONS & ACTIVITIES

 

BAKE SALE
Every year we hold a Bake Sale at the BX (102 Myer Ave, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska 68123). All baked goods are donated by members.  It is usually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, giving everyone the opportunity to pick things up for Thanksgiving dinner. We are there when the BX opens at 10am and are there until we sell out, usually around 2 or 3 pm. We always have a good turn out. All proceeds go to our Scholarship Fund.

BINGO
Every month we host bingo for residents at Hillcrest Health and Rehab (1702 Hillcrest Drive, Bellevue, NE  68005 402.291.8500).  We serve regular cake and angel food cake, that is donated by our members, while we play bingo. It is usually held on the third Thursday of the month.

CANDY BOUQUETS
Every year we sell Candy Bouquets on Valentines Day. Last year we sold them at the base hospital (Ehrling Bergquist Hospital 2501 Capehart Road Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska 68113), AFWA (Air Force Weather Agency, Offutt Air Force Base, Ne 68123) and Building C.   All proceeds go to our Scholarship Fund.

OPEN DOOR MISSION
Last year we sponsored a father with two sons and three single men at the Open Door Mission (2828 N 23rd St E, Omaha, 68110 - (402) 422-1111) for Christmas.  We provided them with items off of their "wish list's", which included NIV Study Bibles, clothing, gloves, pajamas and cd's.  When we delivered the items the members that went took a tour of the facility then distributed the items.

SNACK SHACK
During softball season (May-August) we work the Snack Shack on the softball field.   We provide food and beverages and sell them to players, families, and friends who stop by to see the game.
